An Update

Okay, it's been a while since I've done anything, so even though I don't have anything to show for the weeks of inactivity, I figured I'd at least put a journal entry up to show that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Again.

Until today I hadn't heard anything from my new editor(s), and what I heard today was just saying that they didn't reply because they were moving and only recently got their internet back up and running. So sometime soon, I hope to get back to work on The Laurcian. But in the meantime, I've decided to go back over the whole story so far with a fine-toothed comb and thoroughly eliminate any snags or tangles that made it through the first time. No major changes, though. Not until the end of the second chapter, anyway...

No progress on anything else. I've been distracted by school and games.

Home Again

Alright, I made it home safely. My brother's wife is doing much better after her surgery, and their daughter is the cutest baby in the world. (They polled the world. And the world said she was the cutest.)

I've also enlisted their service as my editor (For how it's written, not grammar and such.) for The Laurcian. I've finished Chapter 3, but I'm waiting for their opinions on it before I post it, and I still need to fill them in on what I have of the plot before they can give an informed opinion.

So, works in progress:

The Laurcian, Chapter 3: A Ship of Firsts
Second draft is complete, collaborating with editors for final draft.

The Lion and the Jaguar
Nearly complete, but untouched for several months.

I think that's it... If I think of more I'll tag them at the end of this list.

Vacation, kinda...

Today I'm going to be flying out of state to stay with my brother for a while to help with his baby daughter while his wife is recovering from surgery.

Since I'm away from home, I might actually be able to get myself to sit down and finish Chapter 3 of The Laurcian, and maybe that poem I mentioned a while ago as well.

On the other hand, I could be too busy with other things, or the new environment could throw off my writing ability. It could go either way, really.

I'll most likely still have internet access, so don't worry about me falling off the face of the earth again.

Well, my new story series, "The Laurcian" is now well under way with two chapters up. There isn't much plot yet, I'm sorry to say, but that should change with the next chapter or two. Much to my surprise it's already gained a couple readers. This is a good thing, because I'll need all the nudging I can get, since I'm distracted very easily. (Already I can hear the call of electronic gaming...)

I'm not as optimistic about "Lorn Merkton," but hopefully with time it will also gain something of a following.

The Return

After nine hard months, I've returned from a sojourn that was supposed to last two years. To celebrate, I'm going to upload some of what I'd managed to work on during the precious few moments of time I had during those nine months. Of most note is my latest story idea, "Lorn Merkton," which is about a young man with a strange ability starting high school. So far I've only the first chapter, which is more of a prologue. The second chapter is well on its way and I know exactly how I want it to go, it's just a matter of getting it written.

The series about space-faring-furries is well under way, however what I'd intended to be merely a first chapter has grown so long I've decided to split it. Because of that I'm not quite ready to submit it yet. It should come up soon, though.

Also of note is a poem that I've been working on. It is as of yet incomplete, but is nearly complete. Already it's the longest poem I've written.
